Sourced from a remote village in Shanxi province, China. These very rare and unique Elm chairs date back to the Qing Dynasty. Traditionally used by women who were in charge of Silk robe embroidery that was often sold or gifted to Chinese Royal and ruling class families.
Surprisingly very comfortable. Would make for a functional dining chair if the table height was appropriate or a lovely addition to a corridor/hallway or use as a side table.
Wear consistent with age and use.
